I can't believe the day has come! It's F R I D A Y! Now, I know I'm not the ONLY one around here who has stuff going on. We ALL have it. But doesnt it feel like sometimes we just have MORE s**t than other times? Well, folks, this seems to have been one of those weeks for me. I mean, here I am listening to my son sleeping and I hear this hard biting noise, as my husband checks on him, finds a POOL of blood (not kidding!) on his pillow, … [Read more...]

Reunited and it feels so good!
Words can't even tell you how I'm feeling right now tonight as I write this blog to you lovies today! Oh if you knew the story of our summer, my mom's illness, and having her with us but not really "with us". When my dad called me that frightful morning to tell me that she put her bra on over her robe ready to leave the house, my heart sunk. Thankfully, she is well, healed, praise the Dear Lord, and she's "back"! And today I shipped her off, … [Read more...]

The best gift ever.
Random acts of kindness, doing something that is so meaningful for someone else, making a difference in someone's life. Sometimes the biggest gift is the feeling you get when you've done something so special for someone else. The gift might feel huge to that person, but truly, the one GIVING the gift is the one who truly receives the biggest gift in their heart. Maybe that's why it's called "the gift of giving." Experience it once, and … [Read more...]

Meet Kennedy….
Meet Kennedy... She is the 19 month old cousin of dear friend Kecia at CoutureZoo. Please take a moment to hop on over there and take a look.... At the very least, keep her in your prayers. Imagine if 100 people read this thru me and each pass it on, and everyone says a prayer how HUGE that could be??? She has been diagnosed with a rare disease, Pilocytic Astrocytoma, which is a rare brain tumor found in infants and toddlers. Treatments are … [Read more...]
Feelin Retro.
After going to the Duran Duran concert last night, still in awe of the Fab Five that I drooled over in jr. high, I couldn't stop singing "The Reflex" all day. So in honor of my nostalgia, I thought I'd share a little retro inspired photo shoot done for Oyster's 100th issue retro story. These images spoke to me. A little Melanie Griffith, "Working Girl" inspired, early 80's. images via … [Read more...]
Good Reads
I confess that I don't take time or MAKE time for reading like I'd really like to. I think that needs to change! There are some shades of something or other that I've heard of that I need to read??? :) Well, speaking of confessions, I was gifted a book from a beautiful woman. Fate brought us together at a women's entrepeneur event. At the end of the day we were packing up our things and she turned to me and said the kindest thing... she said … [Read more...]
I’m back….. well, sort of.
After returning from an awesome vacation filled with days of white sand, blue waters, no stress, no technology, it's time to wake up and realize that the maids won't make my bed. I won't have chocolates on my pillow at night, and Nigel won't pull my car around for me before I go out. No cooking, fresh mahi every day, yummy food all the time, my skin glowing from the sun, with no makeup necessary. Urgh... it's SO hard to get back to REALITY … [Read more...]
You’re only in paris once…. until next time.
Bouncing back from a week that was unforgettable... all thanks to a mosquito bite. Litterally! During all this chaos in my life, one of my dearest friends was returning from a trip to Paris. And she said JUST the words I needed to hear, whether she knew it or not! "Sleep? Who cares about sleep! I can sleep next week! You're only in Paris once.... until next time!" and a little.... So..... are you living it up? Savoring EVERY … [Read more...]
When…
we're overwhelmed, we're stressed, we've bitten off more than we can chew, we're faced with life circumstances beyond our control, as my beautiful friend Lady Grace has said, Thank you Lady Grace for sharing this with us.... I SO need to remember this, and my hunch is, so many others could use this reminder too. Somehow, in someway, whatever we have to overcome, deal with, it will happen the way it is meant to happen. Remember.... just … [Read more...]

Daddy’s Little Girl
Paying a small homage to my daddy for Father's Day. Now that I'm not only an adult, but a parent too, I see that not everyone was lucky enough to have parents like I had. If you don't know me, or if you couldn't tell by now, I am an only child, and YES, not ashamed to admit I'm a princess! But not in a spoiled way..... I come from a modest background and was never just GIVEN anything ever....In fact, life was quite the opposite. But it was … [Read more...]
Love knows no limits.
I saw this image and loved it. My Leopard Sister Kecia over at Couture Zoo has real life experiences with animals such as these, being a zookeeper/fabulous fashionista that she is. But this picture I saw reminded me of the ever so moving story of Christian the Lion. If you haven't heard this story, you will be SO moved after you see it. If you know it, take a peek again and feel good inside.... I know I did when I saw it again! Click on … [Read more...]
100 Years in Pictures
This year marks the 100th anniversary of Paramount Pictures. Photographer Art Streiber assembled some of the most coveted stars in one picture and it is featured in Vanity Fair this week. What a historic photo shoot. I know this looks TEENY tiny, and really my image of this doesn't do it justice, so to see it in grandness, click HERE. From The Titanic, The Godfather, Love Story, Pretty in Pink (remember that one!!), and yes, even Justin … [Read more...]
