As much as I love trends and some fads, I tend to lean to the more simple and classic timeless looks. I also love the elegance of simplicity and looks that stand the test of time. Style doesn't mean you have to always wear the hottest this or the newest that. It's about being put together in a way that looks good and suits you, the occasion, and how you feel best. So today I wanted to give you a simple style tip that I do often. It can work … [Read more...]
Nordstrom Fall Clearance Sale
I don't know if you guys really know how much I love sales. I don't obsess over them BUT I feel like I've scored MAJOR when I get a good deal. On anything really. I'll pay full retail if I must, but if I can find awesome gorgeous finds either on sale or just find a deal on it, I feel like I MAJOR scored. Like I WON! It's kinda silly, but I'm prouder of my finds on sale than those not. Crazy huh? So I always shop the sale racks first. … [Read more...]
All Choked Up
One of my favorite outfits in high school, I remember it vividly, was a light pink button down loose fitting rayon blouse, a white mini skirt, and a brass choker. Big bangs were an extra free perk to go along with it! Believe it or not I can't remember the shoes, but I DO vividly remember this brass heavy choker, and what I wouldn't give to still have it now! They're back. What comes around goes around. And seriously you guys, when I said … [Read more...]
TBT: Market, Parties and Headbands
When I find brands with great style, I love to keep up with them. And when they are things so many of us ladies could use and wear and love, how can I not share it with the world! So today is a #TBT to earlier this month when I got to visit with Elizabeth, owner of Jolie. We connected in Atlanta market in January when I was there helping Honestly Margo with her business. Both Margo and I were obsessed with the loveliness … [Read more...]
Classic Swing Dress
Last week for the #FirstThursdaysFashionShow, I was going to be wearing an outfit from On A Whim. They have some of my favorite brands, like alice + olivia, Rebecca Taylor, AG Jeans, Splendid, Rebecca Minkoff, Cynthia Vincent to name a few. Well, the plan was to wear something a little more on the edgy side, but I then got the message that I would be one of the emcees. Sooooooo I decided to get back to a classic considering my new role. Not … [Read more...]
Greys, Grays and Golds in the Home
I've never been into the whole "matchy-matchy" thing when it comes to interior design. And I've always loved these two colors combined... gray and gold (or grey and gold, depending on where you live). I love the warmth the golds bring into a space to offset the coolness of the grey tones. There are sprinkles of this all throughout my house, but I wanted to show you some other fancies around... Some in bigger ways, other in the littlest … [Read more...]
Welcoming West Elm
A few weeks back I shared the excitement and anticipation of the upcoming arrival of West Elm in our hood here. Well, the day came (last week when my site was in the process of re-launching), and I couldn't be more thrilled to show you some goodness from what they have to offer... I got to have a sneak peek before they opened to doors to the preview party and the grand opening and am excited to share it with … [Read more...]
Traveling? Look At These Bags
Anyone who knows me knows I call myself the "bag whore." I am not kidding you. Bags are my thing. For some women it's shoes, and yes, I can't say I don't love shoes, but there's something about wearing a great bag that I love. I can't have enough. … being my authentic self here… I've gotten messages from people saying I need help (I kid you not!), none needed, thanks! HA! But I look at them as fabulous accessories that have a form and … [Read more...]
White on White
You've seen my love for white jeans HERE and HERE, so today I hopped onto the Coast to Coast challenge today pairing whites with whites because I couldn't resist another white jean post. {wink!} I paired white jeans with a t-shirt that's not-so-basic. It's a white T with gold writing for ME, the Western Scout {wink!}, and with that I added a fabulous belt, shoes and bag. Nothing complicated, … [Read more...]
Coveting Coral
Coral is something I've always loved having a touch of here and there in my house. Something about it feels fresh… Donno if it's that nautical oceanic thing (I'm an ocean girl!) or what (I'm not a huge fan of nautical things, but this I love), but I've loved coral for several years now. It also adds that element of nature without adding greenery into the space. And the curves and branchiness I think balance the either curves or straight lines … [Read more...]
Jeweled Up Messy Bun
Those of us with medium to long hair have one thing in common I think… We have the ability to go a few days without washing our hair, throw it up, and it's A-OK. And these bejeweled beauties I came across the other day at On A Whim gave me yet another reason to skip a day of washing my hair. First, if you haven't been to On A Whim in Classen Curve, you don't know what you're missing. Started by 2 girlfriends out of their homes way back when … [Read more...]
Think Pink: This and That
Pink isn't just for the summer months. I'm loving this pale shade of pink I call "blush". "Blush" pink can be as versatile as black. Wear it with jeans, with black, with chocolate browns and grays. Here are a few I've pulled together that can be thrown into your look for a bit of "freshness". If you wanted some ideas for Valentine's Day gifts that wasn't for lovers but maybe for your mother, daughter, sister, or bff, these might make some … [Read more...]

There's a new gal in town. Earlier this spring, new. Her name is Courtney and she owns a SUPER cute clothing shop in the historic Automobile Alley area in downtown Oklahoma City. Meet Bow & Arrow. Five From Target
I'm obsessing over these five things from Target this week. Some little details that are awesomeness about these... that glass on that table is SMOKEY as in HOT! {big grin}, those little specs you see on the glasses, those are gold dots, and the pillow has amaaaaaazing black little beads on it. DIVINE! Love all these little beauties that will add some special touches to your home without breaking the bank. All of … [Read more...]

Feeling a bit blue, so I thought I'd sprinkle some into our wardrobes and our homes.... ...well, I've been seeing more and more blues around lately, so I had to share some pretties! Blouse / Purse / Lamp / Pillow / Ring / Necklace / Mirror … [Read more...]
Hiya Stud.
I think we can all agree great accessories complete our look. Knowing how to put all the accessories together can make or break the look. Lately I have been into studs. Part because I had my ears restitched this fall (because I didn't listen to my momma when I was growing up and wore WAAAAY heavy earrings that nearly tore my ear holes) and partly because of wearing more around our necklines it makes the look more balanced, and finally, … [Read more...]
