Food. Fun. Family. Friends. Music. Dancing. Good times. A day in the life of a Greek for the most part. I LOVE my roots. I LOVE my heritage. Can you tell by my OP logo, the GOLD Greek Key? :) And it's this time of year that I get the warm fuzzies about my culture and heritage. Why? It's the annual Greek Festival in my hometown of Oklahoma City, where every fall, our St. George Greek Orthodox Church hosts a weekend of Greek heritage … [Read more...]

Simple Salad
Caprese Salad. One of my faves and i love it because its as easy as 1, 2, 3: 1. Tomatoes, any kind, I LOVE on the vine, fresh from the garden. 2. Mozzarella, fresh is best, either buffalo sliced up or mozzarella balls. 3. Fresh basil leaves. Slice them up. Drizzle with olive oil, a bit of balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, and VOILA! YUMMY! Fresh, pretty, kinda healthy. Goes with anything as a side dish. For entertaining, you can … [Read more...]
Meet Kennedy….
Meet Kennedy... She is the 19 month old cousin of dear friend Kecia at CoutureZoo. Please take a moment to hop on over there and take a look.... At the very least, keep her in your prayers. Imagine if 100 people read this thru me and each pass it on, and everyone says a prayer how HUGE that could be??? She has been diagnosed with a rare disease, Pilocytic Astrocytoma, which is a rare brain tumor found in infants and toddlers. Treatments are … [Read more...]
It was love at first sight.
This was the first thing in front of me as I was leaving the corridors of the mall restroom.... It was like "FEAST YOUR EYES ON THIS!!!" I about DIED! It attracted me like a magnet to metal and I gravitated to the GOLD letters, not to mention huge PRADA sign on the right display window. This new store, only open for a few weeks in Oklahoma City is going to be THE store to see. I can promise you that! And if you don't live in Oklahoma City, … [Read more...]
Bringing the outdoors in.
Faux bois is French for "fake wood". I'm seeing more and more "fake wood" patterns in interiors... from rugs to wallpapers to furnishings, to home accessories. Is it just the fact that we all now just LOVE the earth???? Maybe fall is getting close and it's my FAVE season so it is getting me in the mood for the leaves to change so it really SPOKE to me??? Whatever it is, I think faux bois is pretty cool! Take a look... Martha making a … [Read more...]
Feelin Retro.
After going to the Duran Duran concert last night, still in awe of the Fab Five that I drooled over in jr. high, I couldn't stop singing "The Reflex" all day. So in honor of my nostalgia, I thought I'd share a little retro inspired photo shoot done for Oyster's 100th issue retro story. These images spoke to me. A little Melanie Griffith, "Working Girl" inspired, early 80's. images via … [Read more...]
Strong enough for a man, but perfect for a woman.
Washing our face. I wash mine every night before bed to take off my make up and then every morning in the shower when i have nothing on. I found the most AMAZING thing EVERRRRRRRRRRR I kid you NOT to wash my face with every morning. Let me tell you why first, then I will reveal it to you! 1. It's anti-aging. Love that. Gotta have that. If you're over your early twenties, you gotta be proactive on the whole staying-young thing. 2. It's … [Read more...]
Quench Your Thirst
If you don't know what Sonic is, you don't know what you're missing. Why? Well, it's a super cool fast-food place that has car hops and drive up stations. Everything is made to order. Amazing fountain drinks. And a reputation for THE BEST "rabbit turd" ice around! And yes, I'm talking about a fast food place. And a great fun place to bump into friends like I did today. I bumped into Berna when I popped into Sonic and we mentioned something … [Read more...]
Beach Waves
School starts this week {{{{hoooooray!!!}}}}. I can part with the heat, but, as all of you know I love the beach, I can't part with summer JUST yet. I love the natural glow of the summer and with that the relaxed tousled hair. I want my hair to look like THIS all the time... Those "unfixed" beach waves... waves and curls that don't look so fixed. How to get that look? First you need a curling iron. I prefer mostly a wide barreled … [Read more...]
