Five Thoughts…
1. Did this week just FLY by? I can't tell you how many times I thought Wednesday was Tuesday... I CERTAINLY didn't realize it was Thursday till about 5 pm. 2. The underlying theme of the week.... This simple little phrase I've preached to my kids every day as they were walking out of my car into school. First, I'd say those 3 magical words... "I love you"... then.... I say, "Remember.... This applies to all. Just because … [Read more...]

Changing One Element
I've lived in my home for 16 years this November. I've updated slowly, in stages, changed various rooms around, flipped dining for living and living for dining, random things like that. One of the biggest things in view when walking into a foyer is the chandelier. It can be quite a statement piece. Well, the time has come for updating mine. Foyer now..... Chandelier I'm obsessing over to go in it's … [Read more...]
Valerie’s Dance
Dancing With the Stars is a show that is pretty safe to have on the tv with my kiddos around, compared to so much other stuff that is out there. It's a show that I have on in the background while we are doing are different things, not one that I'm hooked on and must watch week-to-week. However tonight, it caught my attention and moved me. One of the contestants, Valerie Harper, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer last winter, but is not letting … [Read more...]
Pretty Little Girls
In the news recently, the French Parliament has moved to ban beauty pageants for children under 16. It must now be passed by the National Assembly in November before becoming law. Of course this is in France, not the US. But still, it's quite a hot topic globally. The Washington Post did a write up on this subject and wanted to know what one young entrepreneur felt about pageants herself. Margo, a 12 year old … [Read more...]

Tomato Mushroom Capellini
Most of my cooking I do, I do these throw together, eyeballing dish and taste testing. Thanks to my mom being the most amazing teacher ever to me in so many things, this is how I learned to cook. I think it's fairly healthy because I'm using fresh ingredients, nothing … [Read more...]

A Big Sister Party
In honor of Throwback Thursdays in the social media world, I thought I'd share something I did as a mom that was a pretty cool thing I came up with. Now, if you're not a mom, feel free to pass this along to someone who is and who is planning on having more children. I swear, any bit of good advice I could get from other moms, I'd soak it up. And I feel like this was a neat thing I did. Perhaps you might call this a "mommy blog" post, but mom … [Read more...]

Table Scape: How to style a coffee table
I think of the phrase "table scape" and it reminds me of watching Semi-Homemade Sandra Lee shows on Food Network and at the end of her meal she'd show her table and how she styled it. Does anyone know what I'm talkin about? Today I'm thinking of a different table scape. I'm thinking coffee tables and how to "dress … [Read more...]
Day to Night in Paris
I had always seen articles in magazines on outfits DAY to NIGHT but I had never said to myself, SELF, WHY DON'T WE TRY THIS SOMETIME JUST CUZ. Doesn't work that way. But this summer, I found myself in the situation where I DID have to do a day to night look. Oh boy! How did it go? Like this.... It began with a simple white tank (the wifebeater), a simple black skirt, and Rosie (my bag that went everywhere with me). Now, I wore … [Read more...]
