Well, you can call this a “semi- from the archives” post. But I think this topic is something so many of us ROUND and ROUND we go. That whole four letter D word…. YOU know what I’m talkin about ….
So lemme just divulge some personal information here to you. To the WHOLE world I bear all. So I weighed myself the DAY I leave for this 6 week long vacation across the big pond. The whole time FEARING I would come home a blimp. Quite the contrary, I came back the EXACT SAME weight. Whew!!!
So what happens? I come home and I gain weight HERE. That’s right. HERE. Not in any foreign countries, but HERE in the US of A. Why is that? I made a very big observation when I was gone. Europeans don’t eat convenience foods that often, they don’t eat processed foods, they eat real home made food with no extra bad stuff and junk and chemicals put in it. And they are the first to tell you that Americans are overweight. Well, from what I saw, no s**t sherlock! I noticed it BIG TIME.
So I get home and what happens? Life begins to get hectic, and back to getting take out a few nights a week, to getting snacks for the kids, to processed foods at the grocery store. And, before I know it, on come 5 lbs. Now…. you’re saying 5 lbs is nothing. Well, on someone who is vertically challenged, every pound counts. I’m not one that can eat freely and not see a difference in the scale.
