As I'm getting into the thick of spring break with my family, I wanted to keep things real here. Spring break began last week and we actually did end up taking a little out-of-town venture to spend time with family. One of the most beautiful people I had the honor of calling aunt left our earth, and we traveled to be with family and to celebrate this matriarch's life. Which put some things into perspective for me.... (... The Mister … [Read more...]

Take Me To The Beach Friday
This weekend marks the official end of summer. But, in some ways, I wish it still were summer, don't you? (Where I live, we are in the sweltering heat of 100, so it doesn't feel like fall yet, trust me!) Who doesn't want to kick some sand around and be at the beach all day??? Holiday Traditions
I don't know if you have any holiday tradition with family and friends, but we started a tradition several years ago that is super fun. Gingerbread house making! Mini-me's Godmother and I started several years ago getting our kids together for the ANNUAL GINGERBREAD HOUSE MAKING EVENT. Our kids have SO much fun coming up with different designs every year for the roofs, the doors, windows, even walkways! We love to have a buffet of candy … [Read more...]
I am thankful for…
As Greeks celebrating Thanksgiving, people ask me all the time, "Do you eat turkey on Thanksgiving?" Yes! Of COURSE we do!... and stuffing, and I made a mean cranberry sauce (not the canned stuff), with all the fixins that come with traditional Thanksgiving. Now.... we DO throw in a few spanakopites and some tiropites, and MAYBE some feta cheese and olives, too! And depending on whose home you go to, you might get some pastichio on the side. … [Read more...]
