First I want to begin by saying that I have never seen a Grammy’s like I saw tonight…. the bringing together of music icons from past and “marrying them” (no pun intended) with the present day hit makers BLEW me out of the water! It wasn’t just honoring a PAST artist for his outstanding work, but the PERFORMING of SUCH talent TOGETHER that BLEW me away. And the marrying thing? That in and of itself was SO moving, all I could say was OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG! I applaud the whole Grammy community for putting together an amazing night of entertainment for all generations to come together and enjoy.
Now to my main focus here, my fave pics of the gowns on the Red Carpet.
I LOVED Taylor Swift’s classic gown with the two-tone coloring with the gold lining behind the silver beading, so elegant, classic, timeless.
Ciara’s gold dress BLEW me away, and sporting her baby bump, she looked stunning! Gold is ALWAYS a hit for me.
Sara Bareilles’ dress was lovely, MINUS the high-low thing. I’m not much of a high-low/tulip skirt girl, but I DID love everything else about it, so that’s why I’ve selected this number. Again, loving the color and the texture. Notice her pop of color with her shoes and clutch? Not sure if orange would have been the color I would have chosen, but I DO love the pop of color that way.
Want those looks? Here’s my version on a lower scale…
Here are some looks I picked out that have a “similar” feel to them. I am drawn to these neutral, champagne – ish, gold, ivory, and especially two-tone metallics. A classic look that can be worn throughout the year for so many events, I selected a few that had a similar feel to those worn by the stars (minus the “GOWN” effect). Sue Wong is a designer I’ve worn and is a go-to designer that I go when I want looks like these.
