I recently went back home, home as in my young childhood home to Chicago, where a huge part of my big fat Greek family resides, for a big fat Greek wedding. And like most families, I’m sure you’ll agree that the two places you get to see EVERYONE is weddings and funerals. So, thankfully, I was there for a wedding and wanted to look my absolute best, especially knowing I hadn’t seen some of these people in 30 years. Of course we always want to look our best, but I knew I wanted to wear something that fit my body well. I wanted to look stylish, elegant, chic, modern and classic. And this fit it all to a tee.
Just because something is a trend or a current look doesn’t mean you need to buy it or wear it yourself. I’m very hourglass shaped and thus I’ve figured out exactly what fits me well. So I popped over to one of my shops I love, Balliet’s and they took great care of me setting me up with this Halston Heritage dress. I know now that that is one of my brands that fits me well. Remember that party I co-hosted with them this summer? You can see more about it HERE… that dress was Halston Heritage as well. So finding brands and styles that fit you well is key to feeling great while looking great, too.
So for those of us curvy girls, here’s a few more from this same designer. It was tailored to my body and I loved how it fit so well and I felt lovely in it. The skirt was a “structured” skirt that actually stood out, almost tulip-style, and the back was a bit longer than the front. Just those little details that set it apart from other dresses. I’ll be honest, wearing these dresses from Halston Heritage made me feel a bit like Jackie O meets Audrey Hepburn in a very princess-like, feminine way.
The dress I wore can be ordered at Balliet’s or HERE.
Or try any of these fit and flares to make you feel like so princess-like, too.
