I have a hard time parting with pieces of my wardrobe. Some of those things being bags (super hard to part with) and shoes, especially when they’re unique. It makes it fun when years go by and I pull them out and they feel like something fabulous and new all over again, especially because they’re so unique to most.
Having a passion for fashion doesn’t mean I have to be glammed up all the time. I get joy mixing things up, finding pieces from different places (much like I decorate, too), and making it my own. And believe it or not, I love my basics. I love great jeans and white t-shirts. It’s part of my “uniform” (so you’ll see, especially if you follow me on Instagram!). So I pulled my vintage Kate Spade espadrille wedges and pink straw bag from my closet and made a basic denim skirt and white top fun.
Denim skirts are going to be hot this summer, (rememeber this one HERE) and so are light and airy gauzy, lace and eyelet tops. So I enjoyed playing in the sun in this tucked away field on windy Oklahoma day. We rarely have days in the spring that are wind-less!
So some of the things I recommend you pick up to add to your wardrobe this summer are these pieces. You can wear them like I did or mix and match them with other pieces. They’re basic, yet not so basic. Each of their unique textures will make whatever looks you create more interesting.
Do you have any vintage pieces you could pull out and make it fresh and new?
