Sometimes less is more. And sometimes glam needs to be glam. But not always does glam have to be complicated.
I recently had a formal evening out and wanted a glam sleek look. Of course as overly abundantly scheduled I’ve been lately, booking a hair and makeup appointment was something I looked over. And I will say that I’ve been blessed by an amazing mom who was in beauty for over 40 years. I grew up as a little girl in awe of her beauty watching her apply her makeup in the bathroom. I dreamed of being half as beautiful as her. What I find even more awesome is tricks and tips that are becoming “new” the past few years, like contouring, highlighting, shading to create certain effects on the nose or around the jawline… SHE taught me those things way long ago. So I do have that hand up on how to apply makeup, more so than the average gal.
So today I’m sharing with you the products I used to achieve this look and the “how-to” on the caption of each product. If you want any of these items, you can shop the images themselves, too! And if you absolutely LOVE my makeup, PIN any of my images to a makeup or beauty board you might have on Pinterest.
I’ll keep my instructions simple here. Follow the captions on the images below.
First start with a clean moisturized face. That goes without saying. Next I use my foundation that I absolutely love. After that I use my bronzer, then to the apples of my cheeks with a pop of blush. Then I move onto my eyes. I use the tube of Urban Decay all over the lid. I move next to the light crayon on the inside of my eyes and up and over on the top to line it. Next comes the eyeshadow on the crease. Follow with the pencil eyeliner on the bottom of the eye, then the liquid liner for the top. Lashes… Cils Booster then mascara. One eye at a time. Then I go back and do the highlighter liquid on top to accentuate my cheekbones. Finally I do a light dustover on my cheekbones, forehead, nose and chin using the highlighting powder with a fan brush.
That’s it.
For a more casual look I omit the the eyeshadow in my crease and liner on the top of my lid.
Side note on my eyelashes. This lash enhancer is a MUST MUST MUST! You have GOT to get this! I’m telling you I ordered mine LAST SPRING and I still have some left. A little goes a LONG way! It’s the best money I’ve spent on my face. My mom was sitting beside me at dinner and she thought my lashes were FAKE! I said NO. Get it. If there is ONE thing you should get, it’s THAT.
If you have any questions on any of this, comment below!
And… I am excited to partner with my favorite makeup artist Ciara Amir, owner of Illume Makeup and Brow Studio for her weekly #winedownwednesday with special guest Tyler Kanady with YSL, where we’ll be doing a Facebook LIVE FROM MY HOME! and sharing makeup tips and tricks. AND… we might even have a special cocktail to tie it into #FuzzyFriday even though it’s not really Friday yet! So SAVE THE DATE! Wednesday, March 8th, 7 pm central time.

Gorgeous!!! Thanks for the tips!
Another thing that you could do for your lashes to complement your enhancer: add a drop of lavender essential oil to your mascara when you first get it, then shake the bottle. the lavender strengthens lashes and promotes growth. 🙂
