Nailing down the EXACT color for a room can be really tricky. I’m working on my mudroom madness which is yes, madness. If you ask my husband, he says, REALLY? All THIS for a MUDROOM? For the backpacks and wrapping paper? LOL! Yes, dear!
So I’m going with PINK walls. You heard me. PINK. These were the choices I narrowed it down to. Now, keep in mind, these do NOT at all look like the real color. Holy COW how different they look in person!
Rose Satin, Behr
Bridal Bouquet, Behr
Bella Pink, Sherwin Williams
What I chose? I’ll tell you after project reveal! These paint chips I added here by the way, look NOTHING like they do in person. Case in point. They aren’t quite the same on the card as when you get the color on the wall. My point? Decision making on choosing a color.
Here’s where the trickies come in.
1. Lighting. Natural? Ceiling light? How much? How little? Will it bring out more salmon? more bubblegum? more Mary Kay? Lighting plays a huge role into how the color truly looks.
2. It’s surroundings. It is all walls and no furnishings? If it’s furnished, are those light? dark? Mine happened to be a shade of white laquer. Pretty much wall to wall cabinets with the exception of ONE wall which will be the home to a lovely plasma tv (for the mud room. Insanity at its best!). So mine brighten it AND reflect.
So how to choose a color? Check out all those factors, get ya some to slap on the walls to test out and see what it will look like. I promise you might surprise yourself! My kitchen looks from certain directions blue and others green.
And if all else fails, call a friend to zoom over to help you make your decision! Right Elizabeth?
A little background on pink… Pink is romantic and tranquilizing. Interesting! They have used PINK to calm INMATES in JAIL CELLS! YIKES!
I can’t wait for Mudroom Madness project reveal! In the mean time, here are a few things I’m adding to it…
For the desk area
For the sink area.
Some other PINK inspiration ideas? Here are a few…

So excited to see the plans! Great post! Yay, pink! I miss my pink kitchen from my single girl days. Brian better watch out…I’m really gonna push for a pink living room when we move back stateside depending on the house we get. The counters are super gorg too! The counters and the pink together are even better! Can’t wait to see the finished product!
