Why is my closet so full?
It’s full because of unique pieces like this that I bought years ago at Rakota Remington (which is no longer around but it was a fabulous little boutique in Oklahoma City). This poncho can be worn so many ways. I love all the cutouts and the fringe detail. It’s something you won’t find anywhere else.
And when we have crazy grey days like some we’ve been having, and you just want to layer, it’s the perfect piece. Do you have some classic capes you can throw over a t-shirt and be ready to roll?
Let me offer you this casual yet put together look. Wear a cape and leggings, but not just ordinary leggings. I’m talking have fun with it and wear velvet leggings! WHAT? Yes. They’re current, not expensive, and an alternative to the basic black we wear all the time. My suggestion on leggings: stay away from bold print if you don’t want to accentuate your legs. Unless you’re really thin, I think it won’t do anything but attract your eye to them and make them thicker. I could be wrong, but that’s how I see it.
These little silver velvet leggings totally caught my eye at the recent Zara sale I was at in Dallas. Snatched them up for I think $7.99! Threw on a blush t-shirt, this fabulous cape, some booties, and I was set for the grey day without being bogged down by a heavy coat.
Investing in great unique yet classic pieces has always been one of my On Purpose fashion rules.
I’ve pulled a few pieces for you to shop my style. The bags are definitely worth the investment!
