I had always seen articles in magazines on outfits DAY to NIGHT but I had never said to myself, SELF, WHY DON’T WE TRY THIS SOMETIME JUST CUZ. Doesn’t work that way. But this summer, I found myself in the situation where I DID have to do a day to night look. Oh boy! How did it go? Like this….
It began with a simple white tank (the wifebeater), a simple black skirt, and Rosie (my bag that went everywhere with me). Now, I wore this top in preparation for a day that would be a jillion degrees and I’d be outside most of the time sightseeing. Had I been in the states where people might know me, I am not sure if I’d wear this top so comfortably, just sayin. (The last thing I wanna do is look like a hoochi mama… had I worn heels with this gettup, it would have been definitely more hoochi.) Substitute the tank with any white little basic t-shirt.
Sharing this picture with you because you had to get a glimpse of the most magnificent iron doors ever. (That was the entrance to our apartment we rented.) Amazing? Pretty much.
So taking it into night, since all of our goods are packed up to catch an early flight to Athens the next day, I had to dress it up and perfume it up! HA! It went something like this….
I simply threw on this lightweight jacket because it does get cool in the evenings. I added a shoe that had a little bit more of a heel, and pulled my hair back. Voila!
Some key staples to have: A great white top, a basic black skirt, and a jacket that contrasts with it. Leopard always works for me. Changing out of the shoes and accessories and you’re set.
So what do you think? Like it? Yay or Nay? I pulled off my very own “Day to Night” look in a flash.
[…] a fun thing. I did an outfit like that in Paris for last year, “from day to night” HERE, but I came across this fun little number from Bow and Arrow that could definitely go both ways, […]
