We don’t have to be in the summer months to glow. As much as I try to hang on to summer for as long as I can, I will always always want to reach for that golden glow. When you can’t get the sun, go for the highlighters right? It’s about how the light hits our face and gives us that “been in the sun” glow… even if we don’t have that golden been-to-the-tropics tan! LOL!
I’m going to share some pictures with you so you can see more of what I love about them and the application of them. These are some “selfies” and pictures of me that I feel like my glow is on point. 🙂
I think the way we highlight and contour and give that “glow” to our face deflects the light in certain ways to create great angles. What does that mean? It means we actually can give our face almost a different shape and look by the way we use color and light. Think about an artist and how they shade things in to create shadows and make things appear to be a certain way. Same goes with our faces. We can touch up our noses to look more slender and give our whole face an overall thinner look. We can accentuate our cheekbones even if they’re hiding beneath our jolly smile! We can trick the eye to see things in ways that look slightly different, in a good way! Mascara accentuates our lashes, right? This plays with light and our natural curves. It accentuates our features in different ways with the use of light.
Here are some of my faves…
How do I use them?
I love to use my “Stroke Of Light” beneath my eyes and in an upward motion, above my cheekbone. It accentuates my eyes and brings out my cheekbones. And it even gives my face a more structured, thinner look. I’m just sayin!
This palette is a MUST! I go back and forth and use the two golds on the top of my cheekbones. Sometimes I use the pink on my eyes, believe it or not, as part of my eye shadow! My favorite thing about this: Use an eye shadow brush and lightly go over the top of your nose. It gives your nose a thinner more structured look as well.
This YLS and the L’Oreal are also great cheekbone highlighters. The YSL pen is great to have to give your face an extra “boost” in the middle of the day. I’ve used these L’Oreal Illuminators even as a lip base!
Shop any of these by clicking any of their pictures or my main picture with all of them!
So there you have it. Some of my beauty faves that are in my makeup bag. Do you use any of these? What products do you use?

I have been usunig ysl highlighter for a while, but it was too orange for my fair skin. i realised i can get better effect simply by using different brush to apply my foundation on the places where i want more light. anyway, ysl seems to work for you. you look gorgeous.
