How many 13 year old, college freshman do you know? Ones that also own their own company, a clothing line? Meet Isabella Rose Taylor who is just that. A beautiful, brilliant young lady I had the pleasure of spending some time with this past weekend for Oklahoma Fashion Week.
I saw Isabella on the Today show several years ago and both my daughter and I were so intrigued and excited to see that talent and drive at such a young age. And having a teen entrepreneur daughter myself, it was important for me to get the girls together and of course, us moms as well to talk life!
Fashion just kinda came her way as a product of her passion for art as a young girl. She was into mixed media art, and began sewing and then making clothing and it all blossomed from there. Her clothing is fun, relaxed, young, hip, a kind of bohemian chic I think. I must admit, I’m not a teen and I would LOVE to wear it! (Is that Ok if it’s cute enough for a mom? 🙂 I What I love most about her line is the mixture of textures and layers…. you’ll see for yourself below and I think you’ll agree they are beautiful!
This 13 year old delight is currently pursuing a degree in fine arts. What else does this genius (truly for real, as she is part of the Mensa society) do for fun? She does pilates, hangs out with her friends, goes to the movies, all the normal things girls her age do…. in-between traveling for appearances all over the country, of course! What I loved most about her is that she’s just a normal 13 year old girl, as genuine and as sweet as can be. Keeping it real! I love that!
Miss Margo wore one of Isabella’s t-shirts to the Oklahoma Fashion Week Red Carpet event this past weekend.
She paired it with a coral skater skirt, a “pleather” jacket and a fun fringed cross body bag.
Here is snapshot of the fashion show.
