This cocktail idea came to me while I was picking up cereal for the kiddos, and it dawned on me… St. Patty’s day! How FUN to have a cocktail using Lucky Charms for St. Patrick’s day. So I created this super simple Lucky Shamrock Cocktail.
I mean let’s keep it real. You know you secretly dig into the box and get the marshmallows out. Right? I know you do it because I DO it! Let’s face it. They’re just so tasty and cute and fun to eat. Once they’re gone, it’s still good, but not magically delicious. HA!
Because this is magically delicious!
Lucky Shamrock
- 4 oz cream ( I used fat free half and half)
- 3 oz creme de menthe
- 2 TBS white cake mix
- Lucky Charms, separated.
- Whipped cream
Crush the cereal in a ziploc baggie and put onto a small plate.
In a shaker with ice, add the cream and creme de menthe. Then add the secret magical ingredient, the cake mix. Shake some more.
On a small plate, draw a circle with the whipped cream to dip the rim of your glasses in. Then after dipping the glasses in the whipped cream, dip in the crushed cereal. Pour the cocktail between the two glasses. Top with whipped cream. Sprinkle the marshmallow treats on top. Serve with a fun green straw.
Makes 2.
So, this tastes like minty green goodness. If you want to make it a little thicker and more substantial, make it into a shake and add vanilla ice cream.
When I made mine, my whipped cream wasn’t as fluffy because my can wasn’t as fresh (yes because I’m a real person and I had some leftover in the fridge! LOL! )
Seriously you guys…. like this was like so good… and I took a spoon and ate every bit of it up! When you serve it, you’ll want to serve it with a straw. Have a spoon handy to eat up those marshmallow charms too.
Don’t forget to wear green, or I’ll pinch you! (wink!)
Cheers to the weekend!
