One of the cocktails I’ve shared year after year, and I do it the same time of year, is the Birthday Cake Martini. Why? Because you’ll always be celebrating a birthday, right? Whether it can be yours, it can be friends, or in this case, even a business! But there’s always a need for this recipe in your life. So I’ll share it again, and I will continue to reshare. It’s SO yummy, and honestly, so easy. And there’s one secret ingredient to making this drink so delicious.
So, as I was saying, I used this drink as part of a theme to celebrate Polished Nail Salon‘s 1st Birthday in Chisolm Creek in Oklahoma City this last fall.
Women came, got pampered, enjoyed a little happy hour, courtesy of us, had some light food, and had a fun evening. What made this fun is that the cocktail was part of the theme of the event. So here’s an entertaining tip for you:
- Think of what event you have going on, what it is that you’re celebrating, and see if there’s a cocktail that goes with it
Basically, the theme cocktail of the night totally ties with the party. In this case, the Birthday Cake Martini. It’s a no brainer, really, but sometimes the funnest, cutest, coolest things are staring at us and we don’t even see them.
So at your next adult birthday party, or as in this case, a business anniversary party, The Nails and Cocktails party, serve up The Birthday Cake Martini!
Birthday Cake Martini
- 1-1/2 ounces cake vodka
- 1 ounce white chocolate liquor
- 2 ounces half and half or milk
- honey
- non-pareils
- 2 tsp. dry cake mix
Fill shaker with ice. Add half and half. I use fat free half and half. Then add the vodka and white chocolate liquor. The SECRET I added to this was the dry cake mix. Throw some in there for fun! Then shake it up. In two separate plates add the honey and sprinkles. Dip your martini glass in the honey, then the sprinkles to decorate the rims. Finally pour your tasty concoctions into the glasses.
Now… why am I sharing this now? Because it happens to be MY birthday this weekend, it was my son’s birthday, and my other business with my daughter, Honestly Margo‘s 5th birthday!
I wanted to leave you with some partying thoughts on aging, and more advise to the younger peeps reading this, and of course, as you can see, I’ve been consumed with everyone else. So, I plan on sharing some thoughts with you next week. Today, we’re just drinking these yummy concoctions!
Happy weekend loves!
