#FuzzyFriday for me is always more fun if I can create a special concoction for you. It always feels more “from the heart” if I made it up myself rather than just picked one up from Pinterest. Well, remember yesterday I talked about something exciting coming soon? When I have weeks like this, I don’t always have time for very complicated cocktails. And with the spiking temperatures already, I’m migrating to the tropical flavors.
So this is for the mom who has juices for the babies, and rum for the adults. HA! It’s something I whipped together and can have little tweaks based upon the juice. Two ingredients is all it takes. I tried to make it a little fancy by rimming the glasses… I love that yummy sugary coating, don’t I!
- Malibu coconut rum
- Pineapple Orange Banana juice
- Orange wedge (optional)
- Coconut flakes and sugar mixed together
Line the rim of your glass with the orange slice. Dip the glass in the coconut-sugar mixture. Add ice to the glass. In a glass, pour your juice and Malibu to the strength of your liking.
The rimming is totally optional, but adds a little sexy flair to the cocktail. The juice flavor is another flexible thing. There’s actually a juice called Pina Colada from Dole. There are so many fruit variations that they make. This happened to be the one I picked up.
Unexpected neighbors come over? Just want to whip up something fast because really, you just want a simple cocktail? This is your answer. Chances are you have juice on hand for the kiddos. And keep this versatile rum stocked in your bar. It’s one of my favorite liquors.
So, tell me what you’re toasting to this week. I want to hear from you! All I can say is WHEW! I’m ready for the weekend! Who’s with me?
