Fun fun fun!
What a way to kick off the weekend.. National Donut Day! Does it get better than this? I think not! So in honor of National Donut Day, let’s us grownups feel like a kid in a grown up way, and have a Donut Cocktail. What do you think?
This isn’t complicated and is always FUN to enjoy and fun to make. Honestly, anything with sprinkles is fun!
Donut Cocktail
- 1.5-2 oz cake-flavored vodka
- 1 oz creme de cacao
- ½ oz simple syrup
- A few drops vanilla extract (to taste)
- 3 oz half and half or milk
- Donut holes, for garnish
- Vanilla glaze, for rim (recipe follows)
- Sprinkles, for rim
- 1 cup confectioner’s sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
First make the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar and milk to a thick consistency to make a glaze that will harden. Dip the rim of the glass in the glaze, let it drip, and roll the sides on the plate of sprinkles.
Mix the vodka, creme de cacao, syrup, vanilla, milk in a shaker (or if you don’t even want to make a mess with all that, in a separate glass) and pour into the decorated glass.
Poke a hole thru a donut hole with a straw and garnish with it on the straw.
Now… behave like an adult … or not… whatever you prefer. It’s Friday!
