I had a recent request to share some ab workouts I like.
Ask and you shall receive. (wink!)
Let me preface this by saying, I’m not in the BEST ab condition now, but there was a time that I was (big grin!), and I will say it did come post childbirth. So it IS possible. And I’m currently trying to shed a few pounds and I’ve been successful thus far.
So now toning is what we need to focus on, in addition to maybe losing a few more pounds. It’s about being fit, not flabby. And while as we age, our texture of our skin isn’t the same, I can work on my muscle tone.
The beauty about these exercises is that it doesn’t take going to a gym or having any fancy equipment to make it happen. It just takes DOING it. Here are some I pulled from Pinterest.
Here are some of the ones I used to do (and will begin back up again):
- V-Ups (or here they’re called seated knee tucks)
- Reverse Crunches
- Pulse Ups
- Suck it in (where I literally just SUCKED IN all the time… it is working the muscles just with that by itself believe it or not)
I did do a few other things with a stability ball that you can have in your home, and some things on the roman chair at the gym, but the primary things can be done with the moves I shared above.
By me sharing this with you, I’m REALLY baring it all and putting myself out there, being a bit vulnerable and now holding myself accountable because I’m really SHOWING you what I got. Here’s what I used to look like. (Pardon the cheesy vacation picture.)
While I don’t look bad at all by any means now, I don’t look like that…. YET. So I’m holding myself accountable to YOU because I want to get back there again, and soon.
Life gets in the way, doesn’t it? We have work, we have kids, we have stuff going on. The gym doesn’t always stay number one…. Making smart food choices slips up a bit more than it used to…. and well… Life HAPPENS. So I’m taking it back. Today. Starting NOW. I want to look better in one month. I’m not going to measure inches or weight on this one, but I will be able to tell just by my appearance. That for me is enough.
Who is joining me? If you are, comment below! Come on now… we CAN do it!
Let’s do this! Ab-countability. BOOM!
