Don’t be fooled if you don’t recognize the number. Answer your calls. Because this is what happened to me. For real.

I get this call a few weeks ago and the area code was not 405, nor was it one that I knew my family resided in, so I was like, hmmmmm… a solicitor. Screening it. Nope. Not gonna take it. Then I was like, just answer it. So I did. The lady asked for me, and I, on the defensive said, “who is calling????” and she sweetly replied, “This is so and so with the Western Avenue District.” Immediately, I knew it was a local gal so I became more relaxed. She called to share with me some awesome news that I had been chosen and selected by the merchants and board of the Western Avenue Association to be the FIRST ever Western Avenue Scout. I had no idea what that meant, but I knew it was a huge honor and privilege! (actually myself and the talented Chris Nguyen… we’re the first ever scouts for Western Avenue, call us the Dynamic Duo “Ambassadors”!) Soooooo everyone, today I’m sharing the deets with you!

So what does this mean? Well, for the next 6 months, I’m your go-to gal who will be scoping out the good times and good finds on Western Avenue, from 36th stretching up to Wilshire. I’ll be keeping you in the know here on the blog, on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram of fun things you might not know about (like all the INCREDIBLE breads and how it’s all baked fresh daily from Big Sky Bread Company),

to specials and sales, to events, to just GREAT stuff I think all you OKC peeps need to know about!

…like the 13th anniversary celebration of The MakeUp Bar.

You might see a giveaway here, or two, or three…

But what’s even MORE cool for YOU….

SURPRISES from me…. Like, I’ll be like a “Secret Santa” surprising you when I’m out and about. So, be on the lookout for me! That means I might surprise you and treat you to your dinner at Tucker’s, or buy your groceries at Whole Foods, or treat you to your blow out when you’re in the chair at Lush or Blo….

I hope this excites you as much as it does me! It’s about spreading the love to everyone! This is a great win win program
