Hi lovies! Just coming off of labor day, I told you what I was doing here, remember? Well I am in the process of going thru some interior design decision making. Last winter we built on a garage onto an EXISTING garage, to turn the EXISTING garage into a mud room. Insanity? Who knows. But all I know is I’m tired of walking thru a hallway of shoes, backpacks, shin guards, and tripping over a ball or two. … every time I come in and out of the house from the back hallway. So….. here comes a project! I’m SUPER excited because I LOVE stuff like this! If I could do this all the time I would! But dear hubby wouldn’t like that on the checkbook and I’d have guilt getting rid of nice things (I can’t part with stuff, fyi. So I call myself a hoarder. But not like those peeps on tv or anything!).
I could babble for EVER for those who know me, so to keep today’s post short and sweet, I’m looking at flooring options, and polished concrete is shouting out at me. I love its ease of maintenance, its simplicity, its clean look, and of course its price. Take a look at these pics I pulled….
What do you think about polished concrete? Are there any you like more than others? I’ll keep you updated on the rest as we make progress…. I meet later this week with California Closets to finalize some details! I can’t wait!

The polished concrete would be for where? The new mudroom? Love it from a maintenance stand point only issue could be how we (muddy feet) would it get? Polished concrete can be really slick when wet.

Hi Lisa!
Yes! A new mudroom. I don’t forsee too much mud based upon how we live. The main need is to handle all the CHAOS! lol!! Shoes, backbacks, and just all MY STUFF! One side will have all lockers with doors, the opposite side lots of tall storage, a great sink area, a stainless refrigerator, and in the middle of the room, a couple of comfy chairs to chill in with a plasma on the empty wall. I plan on sharing more as we go along! Thank you for commenting!

I like the polished concrete! Have you heard of Granicrete? It’s a thin coating of concrete stained to look like granite. That’s what we’re going to do in the lower 2 levels of our house because it covers any imperfections in the concrete. I’ve seen it in a couple of homes and it’s gorgeous. And like polished concrete it looks great and easy to maintain.

OOooh I need to look into that Jillian! Thanks for the info!!
