Fall is my FAVORITE season of the year. I absolutely LOVE to wear beautiful coats, jeans, boots, and just the whole feeling of the crisp in the air. While we’re in the month of October, it’s yet to truly feel like fall. We might have had a day or two of cooler weather, but nothing to say it’s here to stay. So what to wear on the days where we hit the upper 80’s and then some? I pick neutrals in my closet in colors that will keep me cool. Even though I love darker colors, browns, blacks, I have to say I still love lighter (not necessarily brighter) colors to keep me cool.
One of my favorite tops from literally I want to say 10 years ago, this French Connection heather gray top has remained in my wardrobe because of my love of the detail on it. The cut flared shoulders and built in sash made it unique and a classic style to keep. Pairing it with my white jeans, neutral wedges (yes because I couldn’t wear boots in that heat) and a neutral bag to go with it, that’s how I rolled. These colors really I feel like are my uniform.
I gravitate to these colors lots (if you follow me on Instagram, you might see some of these accessories on a regular basis!)
So one of my rules on keepers for your closet to be able to “shop your closet” later is keep those things that have a classic-ness to them, but have a unique enough detail to them that makes them different than the rest. … and you can always wear white jeans. {wink!}
