Two things.
First. Today I’m coming out to tell you what I use for makeup.
Second. It pays to speak up and speak your mind when you see something you like on someone. I can’t tell you how many awesome new amazing things I’ve purchased, learned about or tried because I spoke up and commented or asked a stranger about something they had.
Well, such is the case with makeup when I asked a lady styling my hair about a year and a half ago what she was wearing. Her skin was flawless, it didn’t look overdone, but it looked beautiful and it glowed. So I flat out asked her, “Ok I know this sounds TOTALLY weird, but, what makeup are you wearing because it looks REALLY great on you.” Boom that’s it.
Revlon 24 Colorstay. I went WHAT? Shut the front door!
See when it comes to most things beauty and makeup, if I have something I love, I don’t change things up that often. Well, that’s been changing lots lately… more to come on that in a future post. (wink!) I mean after all, if I’m happy with what I’m using, why change? Right?
Well, let me tell you. This is THE BOMB.
People tell me all the time how great my skin looks, and I swear, that makeup makes it look flawless. I’ve even had makeup artists ask me what I use as well. And when I spilled the beans that it’s from the drugstore, they’re like OMG! SHUT UP! I’m like, I know right???
It’s a liquid from the bottle. More like a genie in a bottle! HA! But really, nothing over the top fancy about it. It’s just AMAZING product for not a lot of cha-ching. The really NICE thing about it is, if you try it and you don’t like it, it’s not like you spent a fortune. And the fact that my skin changes color with the seasons, I like to have several on hand and I cocktail it up to go with how dark my skin is at the time. I have forgotten a time or two, I have to admit (white face on tan body, not a good look!)
I buy the oily combination, but I’ve accidentally bought the normal to dry. Both worked great on me. Sometimes I wear a solid color, and sometimes I cocktail it up with a mixture of shades to match my skin tone, depending on if I’ve been out in the sun or not, to match the rest of my body. To apply it, I use only my fingertips. Nothing more.
I feel like it gives me a smooth flawless finish with a significant amount of coverage, but not looking like I’m wearing 20 pounds of makeup.
When we feel like we’ve got good hair and makeup, we take a selfie, right? So here’s one of those days recently where I thought my makeup looked pretty good. Taken with my phone. No touch ups. Just my big Greek nose, up close and personal! LOL!
What do you think? For a drugstore brand would you give this one a try? Why not? I love mine. In case you don’t want to leave the house, get yours HERE.
