One of my favorite parts of our makeup… Lipstick. Today is National Lipstick Day, and I hear the angels sing! I absolutely LOVE LOVE lipstick. Lipstick, lip liner, lip gloss, all about the lips. For those of you who have followed me, this is absolutely no newsflash to you. You can tell I’m a lip girl.
But what is it about wearing lipstick that is so awesome? Well, the way I look at it, it’s that final touch to beautifying ourselves. It’s like the cherry on top of a sundae. The flowers on the table. It completes our look. Even if we don’t want to wear makeup on our face, we can still throw on a bit of lipstick on and we look put together. And when we feel like we’re put together, don’t you think we’re on our A game, and ready to get sh*t done? Ready to take on the world? Even if it’s just running to the store, you still feel a bit better about yourself when you’re put together. Something about putting on your lipstick just is that ounce of a bit of self confidence booster. Like, “OK. NOW WE’VE GOT OUR SH*T TOGETHER.” Am I right? Who agrees here?
That’s what I feel like lipstick does for us. At least for me. For me it’s a whole big production. But you know that already, too. I line em, I fill them in with one lipstick. Sometimes I cocktail it up with another lipstick, or I’ll layer it with a gloss or two. Do they all look different? Of course not!! HA! My daughter repeatedly tells me after I flash her my winning smile and put together a new concoction, “How do I look?” She says to me, “mom….. it looks the same as all the other days.” Perplexed by her response, I disagree, pause, and still feel like I’m pretty fabulous because I’ve created a new lip combo.
It’s the little things…
My faves, in no particular order… here you go.
This is always fun thing to do. Ladies, pull out your makeup bag and look at your lipstick. Now see your if it matches your personality…
