I couldn’t go today without acknowledging it.
It’s national handbag day.
Yes, we can all agree there’s now a day for EVERYTHING, and some ridiculous things. But this is not a ridiculous one.
Hail to the handbag, yes I said that.
Why do I love them so much? I really can’t answer that other than I’ve loved bags and looking pretty from a young age. Bags I think are an accessory that can be as powerful as our outfit, can define how we look, can make a statement about us, and have a purpose and a function… to carry our shit in! Let’s face it. We carry a bunch of stuff at times and we need to do so in a stylish way. Am I right here?
So as we begin to enter this fall season I thought I’d share some must have bags you might be interested in. By the way, I’m really loving jewel tones right now. These are in a variety of price ranges and go from totes to crossbodies to backpacks.
Oh and this little gem… I thought I’d share a little bit more of myself with you….
This was my VERY FIRST bag. I remember my dad buying for me from Lord & Taylor in OakBrook Mall in Chicago (Oakbrook actually, a suburb, but I grew up there so for me, everything up there now is Chicago) when I was 11. I remember wearing this beautiful little bag to church, along with some new patent leather black and white flat dressy shoes, the first pair of women’s shoes I wore, as I moved into a size 5 women’s. Those too, from Lord & Taylor.
I found this picture online and no longer have the bag. If anyone ever spots this, holla! I want it. I’m sad I parted with it.
Which is your favorite?
