After returning from an awesome vacation filled with days of white sand, blue waters, no stress, no technology, it’s time to wake up and realize that the maids won’t make my bed. I won’t have chocolates on my pillow at night, and Nigel won’t pull my car around for me before I go out. No cooking, fresh mahi every day, yummy food all the time, my skin glowing from the sun, with no makeup necessary. Urgh… it’s SO hard to get back to REALITY and routine. So, I’m back, but am I BACK???
My hubby said to me this afternoon, “why can’t live where we really want to live???” Good question.. I mean, let’s see…. summer all year long, fresh fish, NO taxes. Pretty good, right? but…. would we live the way we did on vacation? Seriously? um… NO… we wouldn’t be in a hotel, kids still would go to school, and we’d have SOME sort of routine. Basically… we still need PURPOSE. Now trust me, I wouldn’t trade vacation for ANYTHING! In fact, I think I could use an extra few weeks, thank you very much!! But, when it’s all said and done, on a daily basis, we need PURPOSE. And it hit me this afternoon, as I’m struggling to SNAP OUT OF IT and get with the program, WE NEED PURPOSE! Unfortunately, we can’t live a life of vacation. Well, I suppose we CAN, but my guess is we’d get bored after a while. What do you think?
Here is a really quick snapshot of my escape from reality.
View from my room. Very serene.
Just chillin with my mini-me…. my lil guy is in the background.
Daily dose of my mahi mahi for lunch at the Bar Jack at the hotel.
One of our fave restaurants… to DIE for Lobster Ravioli…. just sayin…
The other fave restaurant, same owner, and the BEST after-dinner chocolate mints.
Me and mini-me having fun on the boat.
Loving the convertible. I think everyone needs one… including me. HA!
Goofy drunk dude who had a fun time posing for me. Mini-me was CRACKING up!
In the coming days I will share a few other things that were pretty awesome… sparkles, fun clothes, and some bucket list things…
Talk to me and comment below…. tell me how do you get yourself back into the swing of things after you’ve been away and have CHECKED OUT? Because even though we wish vacation could last forever, it can’t. And it wouldn’t be the same as time went on. We need purpose. …. But, I’m still trying to CHECK BACK IN from being CHECKED OUT!
