Fresh strawberries are abundant at the grocery stores. They’re red, plump, sweet, fresh and SO good for you, so why not turn that “healthy” thing into a FUZZY thing? {wink}! That’s like eating cake for breakfast, right? … eggs and milk right? {tee hee hee} After all, when I think of summer poolside drinks, I think of pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris. That’s all I remember my mom and aunt getting on summer vacations. So I thought why use all of those pre-made frozen mix stuff. I can make it fresh and make it “healthier”.
All you need for this health strawberry daiquiri is fresh strawberries, some light rum, and I added some sugar to take away a bit of the tartness. You don’t have to use sugar, but a little does the trick. You’ll want a blender if you’re going to use ice in it. If not, just use a hand blender. Whatever works for you!
Healthy Strawberry Daiquiri
- Fresh strawberries
- Light Bacardi Rum
- Dash of sugar
Puree strawberries with a hand blender. Or put in a blender with ice. Pour into your glass. Splash in your rum to your liking. Add a tsp or a dash of sugar and stir. If you didn’t use ice in blending, add some ice into the drink. Cheers!
I have to say, much like cooking, I really don’t measure TOO too much with my cocktails either. Some I do, others I don’t. Depending on how complicated they are. Sometimes I feel like Sandra Lee, as seen here…
