First of all, on top of being a busy time of year, I’m launching my FIRST program on finishing your year strong. We can talk more about that on Monday. (pssssst! If you’re already a part of The OP Lounge, you know about it!) So that has been all time consuming for me. What we really need is to pop the cork, have some champagne and celebrate this new phase in my business!!!
And then I thought about what I wanted to serve up this weekend to our Christmas carolers that will be coming by on Saturday night. It’s our church youth group that comes annually, and I serve snacks and drinks. Obviously, they’re non alcoholic drinks. On a cold winter night, I think hot cocoa is best. But how to serve hot cocoa for a crowd? A crockpot!
So then I thought to myself, self… what if this can be turned into an adult concoction for winter parties? Brilliant!
So that’s what I’ll do for Fuzzy Friday! I’ll share crockpot hot cocoa and we can spike it for the adults.
Wouldn’t that be awesome on Christmas Eve Night? Especially by the fire if it’s cold? OOOoooooh sounds SO good!
Crockpot Hot Cocoa
- 5 cups milk
- ½ cup Hershey’s Cocoa
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 cup hot water
- Bailey’s, Godiva Liquor, Kahlua, Frangelico and/or Peppermint Schnapps
Combine cocoa, sugar, and hot water in large pan. Stir, and bring to gentle boil. Transfer mixture to crockpot, add milk, and stir. Cook on HIGH for 2 hours or LOW for 4 hours, or until hot.
On your counter beside the crockpot, have the liquor bottles set out. Serve into mugs or Irish coffee mugs with a ladle. Add a splash or two of your favorite liquor. Optional: top with whip cream and sprinkles.
How easy is that and it’s perfect for everyone. Kids can have the hot cocoa, and the adults can spike it!
Here’s another one you might like if you haven’t seen yet. I created the Peppermint Patty by accident, but it was well worth it!
Get the recipe for the Peppermint Patty HERE.
Cheers to the weekend loves!
