When I come up with themed cocktails, like I’ve done for #NationalDonutDay or St. Patrick’s Day, I love to make them fun, festive and I try to bring out the kid in us. That’s what I did when I created the Boozy Bunnies for Easter.
Let’s talk about Peeps for a second. I think people either love em or hate em. Me? I kinda like them! It’s not necessarily a Peeps drink, but I used them to garnish the cocktail. The drink tastes like a creamy marshmallowy sweet treat. It’s not hard to make, and the combination of flavors almost mimics a sweet marshmallow.
Boozy Bunnies
- 1 oz whipped vodka
- 1 oz Malibu rum
- 1 oz maraschino juice
- 2 oz vanilla syrup
- 4 oz half half
- Marshmallow cream
- sprinkles of your choice
- 1 peep
Spread with a knife on the rim of your glass the marshmallow cream. Then dip it into your sprinkles.
In a shaker with ice, combine the vodka, Malibu, maraschino juice, syrup and half and half. Pour into your decorated glasses. Sprinkle a few more possibly larger sprinkles into your glass. Decorate the side of the glass with a bunny Peep. Serves one large drink.
I sprinkled larger egg-shaped sprinkles into the drink and they settled at the bottom. It created a fun effect to see through the glass. Just an extra touch of fun and a surprise in the drink. The kids hunt for eggs and we find eggs in the bottom of our cocktail glass!
My Easter falls next week, as I’m Greek Orthodox. But for those celebrating this weekend, I wish you a very happy weekend and happy Easter!
Cheers!
