It’s birthday week in my life…
March 1st, my son had a birthday, and it’s the same day my daughter launched her business. That was four years ago. So these two had some milestones this week.
Tomorrow is mine. I celebrate another year older. Time REALLY does fly.
As my young brain was photographing this cocktail, it was as I was almost done that I noticed the camera said NO SD CARD. So… this is the almost done libation. And let me tell you, it’s DIVINE! I’ve shared this before but I think my photography skills have grown since then, which is why I wanted to reshare it. Plus, most people who are newbies to The OP Life don’t know I’ve made this. It’s pretty darn amazing!
What makes it so good is my secret ingredient that makes it really like birthday cake. Read and see!
Birthday Cake Martini
- 1-1/2 ounces cake vodka
- 1 ounce white chocolate liquor
- 2 ounces half and half or milk
- honey
- non-pareils
- 2 tsp. dry cake mix
Fill shaker with ice. Add half and half. I use fat free half and half. Then add the vodka and white chocolate liquor. The SECRET I added to this was the dry cake mix. Throw some in there for fun! Then shake it up. In two separate plates add the honey and sprinkles. Dip your martini glass in the honey, then the sprinkles to decorate the rims. Finally pour your tasty concoctions into the glasses.
This is SO SO good! It doesn’t have to be your birthday to enjoy this treat. I don’t know what I like most about this, it’s creamy cake goodness or the sprinkled rims!
Tomorrow, tune in for notes to my younger self. I’m ready to turn a year older… because really, getting older isn’t as bad as everyone cracks jokes about.
