Here you are, candy and all the leftover junk from last week’s festivities. STARING AT ME. GLARING AT ME. Quietly SHOUTING out my name. Yeah, you heard me right. Candy, DON’T look at me that way!!!
We begin the season that revolves around food. One down, three to go. I’ll talk more about the others as they approach us, but for now, how do we deal with those leftover treats that are playing tricks with our brains?
1. Get it out of your site. Don’t leave it out in visibility for you to grab a piece here or there.
2. Pack it in a place that you don’t access all the time. I don’t mean the pantry. I mean somewhere NOT so convenient. That way, if you want a little Reese’s fix, you go to your destination hiding spot….. And by that I don’t mean under your bed, either!
3. Give it away. Maybe your church could use the left overs for treats for the kids after Sunday School? Maybe a shelter? Maybe a preschool or daycare? Just give it to someone who might enjoy it.
4. THROW IT OUT. Who cares? Seriously, it’s NOT worth it to have it there LOOKING AT YOU all the time. Chances are you will CAVE IN and GIVE IN to those spooky voices calling to you, “eat me! eat me!!! Just ONE! That’s alllllllll!”
So then what did I do? Well, I gave a BIG BAG of leftover stuff to my church to use for their Halloween Party tonight (yes, they do it late), and I do have my TINY stash of Reese’s in a closet in the laundry room in a shelf waaaay up high. If I ever need a SMALL fix, it’s there, and not super easy to get to.
Now… we just have to make it to Thanksgiving without putting on pounds from Halloween. We’ll have new challenges ahead of us in a few short weeks!!!
……… I hope you lovies had a super duper weekend and REALLY soaked in that extra hour of sleep we’ve been gifted! If you didn’t have a chance on Friday or over the weekend to enter my giveaway, be sure to hop on over HERE to get a fun iPhone cover!
