September is here and I can’t help myself. Is it just me or are you just SOOOOOO ready for fall too? I know I’m jumping the gun a bit. In fact, I really should have shared a END TO SUMMER cocktail being that it’s all labor day weekend, but I love the scents of fall, the warm colors of fall, the flavors of fall. So Labor Day or not, I’m kicking off fall right here baby! Let’s do it, shall we?
So….. Caramel apple…. mmmmmmm…. I mean seriously, isn’t that one of the things you think about when you think of fall flavors? It’s top 5 on my list for sure. Crisp cool apples, warm buttery caramel flavor… spices too…
Sooooo I bring you the Caramel Apple Martini. This isn’t low fat, low sugar, low carb. And it’s not hard, but it’s not a 1, 2, 3 done either. Only because of the prep of the rim. But can I say something here about the rim?
OH MY GOODNESS.
Ok really here…. cut up extra apples when you’re done, and like DIP THEM in the caramel, THEN in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Just trust me on this one. Just to snack on! Like…. I’ll say this… if you DON’T, you’ll be acting all like a kid after you start drinking these and dip your fingers in the caramel then in the cinnamon sugar mixture…. TRUST ME…. What do you think I was doing after I made these bad boys to photograph for you! HAHAHAH! …. ok I’m keeping it real here!
So this isn’t hard, but I do measure for this one.
Caramel Apple Martini
- 2 ounces Apple Cider
2 ounces Caramel Vodka
1 ounce Butterscotch Schnapps
Sliced fresh apple, caramel, and / or cinnamon sugar for garnish.
Rim your martini glass with caramel and cinnamon sugar.
Combine the apple cider, caramel vodka, and butterscotch schnapps in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously.
Pour mixture into the rimmed martini glass and garnish with a slice of fresh apple. I doubled this recipe and it filled two glasses with some leftover for a third. So it depends on how large your glasses are.
I’m so ready for fall, as much as I love the sun and beach. I’m ready for jeans and boots and sweaters and fur and all the coziness that goes with it. So CHEERS to the 3 day weekend, to the END of a long hot summer and to all of our little or big WINS we had this week. Catch you on the flip side!
