Mom, why are there bags on your feet? … says my son as he rightfully is checking out my feet while I’m plopped on the sofa watching Batchelor in Paradise. I have to agree, it’s not the normal thing to see bags on someone’s feet.
Well, I thought it was time for another peel on my feet. What’s that? Well, let me introduce you to Baby Foot if you haven’t heard of it.
It’s basically a chemical peel for your feet, removing all the dead skin we’ve accumulated on them, on the bottoms, the heels, the balls of our feet, even on top an on our toes. It’s awesome. It’s not an instant thing. The whole process takes a few weeks, and if done correctly, is a breeze.
I actually did a review on it a few years ago on it HERE, but after becoming super awesome buddies with the distributor for them at market this summer, I found out I did it ALL wrong the first time. NO WONDER my feet were tender and it peeled off in huge chunks!
So… I am redoing this this time, with CORRECT instructions, and it was TOTALLY gentle, with pretty much no tenderness whatsoever. This is THE BOMB of a product.
I will preface this by saying I’m sparing you tons of peeling pics. To be quite frank, I don’t want you to gross out with my feet. Second, I took these myself, my feet aren’t as swollen as they appear to be, I think it’s the angle. And third, you can see my age with my wrinkled sun-obsessed skin.
So here we go!
Before…
You can see my heels were pretty bad. I live in my bare feet at home on my mostly wood floors. So, ya. I guess I’m kind of hard on them.
So first things first. Soak your feet in warm water. I basically used soaking in the bathtub as that one. Easy. Then I put on the booties and sat with them for an hour. THAT’S IT. DO NOT SLEEP WITH THEM ON YOUR FEET. That was the HUGE mistake I made last time. Then, gradually, let the crumbling and peeling begin. It will last a few weeks, and the best way to slough it off is to gradually rub on it after you’ve bathed or soaked them. I went for a pedicure after it was done peeling too. I will admit, being during the warm months, I got lots of looks as people looked at my feet because they could see this whole transformation with the gross skin crumbles when I wore sandals. It was as if my foot had some strange disease. I explained what I was doing and got mostly intrigued reactions. That’s fine with me. I know my feet feel amazing now, so that’s all that really matters. I definitely recommend doing this BEFORE the warmer months so you can go the the peeling part with covered feet. And so that your feet are in tip top shape for those summer sandals.
In process…. at the pool…. you can see the fresh skin was kind of sensitive to the sun….
and after…
So what do you think? I can’t wait to do it again. About 3 months is what most people do.
