If you’ve been watching tv for any amount of time recently, I’m sure you’ve seen these FABULOUS ads for the latest collaboration between fashion designer Altuzarra and Target.
Mixing femininity with with sophisticated styles, Altuzarra for Target represents to me the stylish woman who can do all, be all. Go to work, look chic yet appropriate, and take those pieces from day to night. All modern, fresh, elegant, and feminine. I love his textures from the flowy satin to the jacquard to the velvets, to the bow detail on his blouses that are coming back from way back in the late 70’s – 80’s.
So off I went at 7:30 am to my local target to see what would be the best for me. I made the mistake long ago shopping online the night before when Target had the collaboration with Neiman Marcus and all the designers from the CFDA. (In case you missed it, see it here.) I swear, I had a cold sweat and went into hoarding mode, buying up multiples for sizing, buying up some of the accessories in multiples for gifts and just to have JUST IN CASE I needed more! I was a NUT! Soooooo… I excersized some self control this time and waited patiently to see the goods in person. And lemme tell you, the pics online don’t do it justice.
Here are the pieces that DID make it home with me.
Not to be worn together, but those two blouses are great staples as are the skirts. And the booties? A GREAT price for some fab booties! And I actually needed new ones this year!
Below are some amazing pieces I REALLY loved that I had to pass on…. details why are below {sad face}…
The black faux fur coat… LOVE it! But I have too many furs, I had to pass. {totally sad!}
The ruby dress, can I just tell you OMG, it’s TO DIE for, and it’s the most elegant an chic-est dress ever. And I see it being one of those that you DON’T get rid of. But the size I needed (to go up a size) was already gone off the rack, AND I think I’d have issues with “the girls” if you know what I mean… (it’s VERY low cut. And this mama needs to be a proper mama!)
The plum dress is again so feminine and flowy and just LOVELY, but those girls again. I have that issue. If I were to choose between the two, I’d select the ruby dress.
That trench coat WOWZER. It’s SO thick and GORGEOUS, the photographs don’t do it justice, much like it’s matching skirt. Again, I have a black satin trench coat and had to pass.
So there you go! I think this is a SUPER collection of things. The moral of the story of this collab is really, GREAT basic pieces to add to your wardrobe at a GREAT price point that are made VERY well. And just because something looks fabulous or amazing on the rack or on the model doesn’t mean it’s going to fit OUR bodies that way. {wink!}
Don’t want to run out and beat the crowds? It’s all available here.
Awesome job Altuzarra and Target!
