Boys, if you are reading this, I want you to continue to read. This message is for the girls, but you guys can listen, too. It might come in handy if your woman needs advice.
Being a girl, a highly sensitive one at that, I’ve learned a few things in my 29 + a few extra years. I think with age comes wisdom. And this past week, I grew a year older. And based upon my years, the people who’ve come into my life this far, past and present, I have some thoughts to share….
A few things I know for sure.
Girls. And Friends. Girlfriends. Not the kissing kind, but the ones that you can tell your secrets too, the ones you can cry with, the ones that you can fart with and laugh, the ones that will tell you you have clown lips (because I love my darker lip liner and always have and dont think I will ever change!) and you still love them and you laugh about it, the ones that you can compare BITE marks in GIANT Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, the ones who can say to you, the ones who will tell you, “yeah….um, are you going to wear THAT???”, the ones where it doesn’t matter how much time has passed, it’s like you never missed a beat.
And it’s not only those girlfriends, but those “girl relationships” (I’m thinking business peeps too) where you know they lift you up, they encourage you, they support you, they help you, they don’t judge you, and they rejoice in your success. They’re your cheerleaders. You just feel it when you’re around them. And the feeling is mutual. You feel the same for them.
They don’t envy. They’re not jealous. They’re not sarcastic. They’re not overbearing. They’re not curt. They’re not mean.
This post is for all those girlfriends of mine out there, and for all of you to think about your relationships with your peeps.
I LOVE when I’m around those wonderful, helpful, kind, encouraging, supportive and uplifting women! When I’m with those ladies, I feel like I can do anything, I can conquer the WORLD!
That’s what it’s about.
Put aside those who aren’t that. Put aside those peeps that bring you down, that have the envy, the jealousy, the hurtful words. Why do we need to be around that???
We don’t.
And for you boys who stuck around for this convo, if your lady seems to be down because so-and-so did so-and-so to her, tell her I said TALK TO THE HAND! Put those chics aside and time to move on to girls who are real friends. And does this happen to you boys? I suppose it can. Donno. I’m not a boy. {wink}
Happy Friday Lovers!
muuuuuuuuuaaaaah!
