K.I.T. = Keep in touch, in case you didn’t know. (Have another post for you on that topic… wheels always spinning, you know!)
I was a marketing major. LOVE everything about marketing, communicating with people and conveying a message, how and what sells and why, just ALL of it. And I always did, but I’m tapping into it more and more. But I “went to school” for this, as a marketing and management major, just a FEW years ago, being all of 29 + a few more {wink!}. When I was in school, there were “computer labs” and VERY few people had computers. I had a TYPEWRITER. Basically, what I’m saying is, there WAS no social media back then as we know it. Social media was CALLING someone and actually TALKING to them and meeting up in person to DO things. There were not courses on how to do social media. I’m just an older gal learning as I go.
So I first began with this…
I LOVED it. I think it’s STILL my forte because I can look back at pictures AND read the words and there’s no fancy “lingo” I need to learn. It seems SO simple and I feel like my connections are SO real, with the whole spread of pictures, I can write as much as I want or as little as I want… I get to see the WHOLE picture when it comes to the peeps.
Then came THIS…..
Oh PINTEREST, how do I love thee…. let me count the ways… count the ways you’ve cost me SO much money from things I have bought that I really didn’t need. Wait… is it about NEED or WANT? {wink!}… and have I put on a pound or two because of you? I mean, those recipes ARE pretty amazing, right? My addiction that COULD last hours on end, which is why I don’t get on as often as I used to, because I can’t pull myself away from it. No more tearing out of magazines and organizing the tear outs in the clear slickers.
Because of the blog, I HAD to learn this…
I had to learn it because the world was doing it, the “younger folks” are doing it, because from what I’m hearing, it’s the “old farts” that are on Facebook now??? (um…. would that be ME?) So the young peeps are FLEEING facebook to go to twitter.
I will say, twitter is NOT my forte. I don’t like how “LIVE STREAM” it is. I feel like I’m always playing catch up and trying to read fast to see what who what what what??? And the whole 140 character thing…. Ok….. Have you FIGURED out yet that I’m a talker? Help me out here, would ya?
Finally, my newfound friend, I like it like Pinterest, but not sure to THAT degree of obsessiveness….
Instagram has let me see things in a whole new light. I mean a WHOLE new light. Who knew food and the sky and my toes could be so pretty? Maybe not my toes, but YOUR toes? But seriously here, with LIFE as we know it, I wish I could be better at it, too. I feel like I have just the time to POST and then get back to what I do, and then when I climb into bed, scroll thru to see what my peeps have posted. On to the next day. How do you IG? (those are my initials btw! HA!)
So here’s the dealio. I want your feedback. Really. I do. So that means say something to me… either here or on a post you see my blog pop up…. and that’s the key… follow me?
WHAT SOCIAL MEDIA DO YOU LOVE MOST and why? or do you even have a fave? I can tell you right now, I suck at twitter. My worst one. I know I need to pick a few and do em GREAT. But I also want to be where the peeps that follow me are, as well.
So talk to me….. tell me…… where do you hang?
K.I. T!

Love social media for adults! Keeps me in touch with my friends all over the world. I just am still in a quandry about children and social media…

Agree! Facebook is my fave for that and family and friends. Do you use any others? I agree on the kids. It can be scary. We gotta guide them and show them to be safe and smart! 😉
