You never know what you’re going to get when it comes to Oklahoma weather. That and travel I think are my keys to my favorite rule in what to wear. Layers.
As we are right in the middle of what seems to be transitional weather, it only makes sense that we prepare for those days of cold to hot, windy and sunny, and why don’t we throw in a hormonal hot flash or two while we’re at it! {wink!} So my ultimate key in what to wear for transitional weather? Layers.
As if you didn’t know me already, blushes, grays and neutrals tend to be my go-to colors. Even before the Pantone color of the year for last year was the rose quartz and serenity. I’m just drawn to these. I think they flatter most skin tones, and you can’t go wrong with that subtle touch of femininity.
What you need to pull off this look is pretty simple.
- A comfy long cardigan – mine is from Target from last year.
- A layering t-shirt – mine is from Zara from a few years ago.
- Comfortable jeans that move with you. THESE are AMAZING and I just got them, listed below, and UNDER $40!
- Comfy and STYLISH sneakers (because believe it or not, I do own sneakers, not just heels. My only requirement on them is that they have STYLE. Notice the glitter in mine? There aren’t many of these Marc Jacobs left that I got last year, so I’ve pulled a few others for you.)
That’s it. Easy, right? Subtle on the makeup and lips, and you’re good to go do your day. Work from home, run your errands, get your nails done, meet up with a few of your friends. Hot? Take off that cardigan. Cold? Wrap yourself up in it.
You’re good to go for the the upcoming weeks… so we hope!
