Drape me in velvet! I’m crushing on you!
It’s going to be one of THE hot trends for fall/winter 2016. Velvet. Plain velvet, crushed velvet, velvet tops, velvet dresses, velvet pants, even velvet shoes. And mix into that jewel tones. What’s old is new again, and I do remember oh so well some velvet dresses I had in the early 80’s. It’s all how you wear it to make it look good. This is my first velvet post of the season but it won’t be my last!
I took this crushed velvet top from Zara and paired it with my skinny jeans rolled up (because that’s a thing too now) and sprinkled in my fabulous, comfy and inexpensive velvet booties.
Side note. If I think something might be a fad and won’t be a thing as much the next year, I’ll do my best to get it at a steal. You won’t see me spending hundreds on velvet shoes. It will be SO 2016 in a few years!
Feeling a bit fierce, this brought out my “biker chic”! Instead of jeans and leather, it’s jeans and velvet.
