I am a beauty junkie and I love all things beauty related. From hair products and hair styles, to nails, to lips, to makeup, to our even products for our body. And anything to turn back the hands of time, right? I was thinking about the reason why I don’t do too many beauty posts here is because I’m a creature of habit. I share what I’m using and love what I use and pretty much stick to it. When it comes to the bigger things, that is. Nails and lips, I’m REALLY a junkie and buy tons of it unfortunately! But as far as changing things up, I don’t do it too often.
And I realized one thing I haven’t shared with you is my makeup. Just like everything else I share, more expensive isn’t always better. So today I’m sharing my favorite makeup from the drugstore that I wear daily. And I’m obsessed with it. Why? It has excellent coverage, it’s not heavy, and it lasts all day. And, it’s from the drugstore, meaning it won’t cost a fortune.
So first my liquid foundation and why I wear it. Revlon Colorstay. I’m OBSESSED with it. Overall, my skin is in great shape, I can’t complain. I’ve always taken care of it, and I think good genes can’t hurt. But one thing I desire is good coverage. My skin isn’t all one color, and I want it to be all even toned. This isn’t oily, greasy, and truly lasts ALL day. Overall my skin looks smooth and flawless with it. And I wear it without any powder on top of it.
The second foundation I recently tried because I wanted something that was more in a compact form was the CoverGirl Simply Ageless. I’m a sucker for the advertising, what can I say! They claimed to hide the fine lines and I feel like it does a great job of that as well. It’s super easy to apply, and I love that I can take it in my purse if I need to make any touchups throughout the day.
So there you have it. My two foundations I wear.
And the thing I love most about the fact that they’re from the drugstore… I can get multiple shades to adjust with my skin tone as it changes with the rest of my body. Darker for when I’m more tan, lighter for when I’m more pale. Sometimes I even cocktail them up and mix the colors. Or I’ll use the compact in certain areas and the liquid in others. But because of it’s fabulous price point, I can afford to have multiple shades for the price of one from the department store.
Genius!
