I love how names change over time and over decades as styles come and go. What was once a “strapless” dress now has become a cold shoulder dress. I’ve always loved the cold shoulder look, whether it’s completely strapless like this or whether the shoulders are cut out like THIS or THIS. Even a bit of one shoulder action (reminds me of a Greek Goddess!) I find beautiful. Something about showing the shoulders, even a little bit, I find a little sexy, a little flirty, a little fun. You’re not revealing a lot. Just your shoulders. Well, in this case, all of my shoulders.
Dresses like this are easy to wear, perfect to throw in your suitcase for a tropical vacation, a weekend getaway, or even just for a fun dinner out. I paired my flouncy and airy cream dress with colorful accessories. I wanted it to feel a bit more tropical, as I dream of being on the beach instead of fighting the Oklahoma winds! So I threw on some fun bold earrings, my magenta Marc Jacobs clutch, some vintage Dolce & Gabbana sandals that had straw and some fruit in them and I was set.
