Super Bowl Sunday is the number one food noshing day of the year. Did you know that? I have this love/hate relationship with Super Bowl Sunday. I love it because we go to this big party every year and there is more food than you can imagine. 100 people party = lots of food! And GOOD stuff… sigh…. oh my poor clothes will be SO tight the next day! After all, it’s only just ONE day right? Why not indulge in all the goodness! So if you’ve indulged and dove into the queso head first on Superbowl Snackbowl Sunday, here are a few tips to bounce back from the Super Bowl hangover.
- Drink water with lemon. Water will keep you hydrated from all the saltiness and the lemon will act like a diuretic. You want to flush as much out of you as possible. Not that it’s going to rinse away the fat from your body, but it’s one of my favorite healthy habits I love, but it will flush away the salts. Water with lemon. It does a body good.
- Drink Green Tea. It increases your metabolism, which helps burn calories, which helps put a dent in the damage we did the day before. THIS is the tea I’ve been drinking.
- Find ways to move more. If the weather is nice where you are, get outside and walk. After work around the block, or during your lunch break. Just find a way to get your body moving. If you’re drinking the green tea, it will help even tenfold work even better.
- Make smart choices TODAY. Yesterday was yesterday. Do you have leftovers? Find someone to give them to. Or if it’s freezable and you have TONS of food leftover and it’s something you can eat at a later date, package it up into smaller portions to save for an unexpected need. Don’t get into the “well, I guess I’m off my diet since I did horrible yesterday” mode. Nope. It was just one day. Get back up off the ground and saddle back up! Just a small setback.
I sent some serious good anti-diet food to the Snackbowl Party last night with the fam because I unexpectedly came down with strep throat. I stayed home alone while they got to enjoy all the fun. I made that crack popcorn I posted HERE and I made a spinach artichoke mac n cheese. {WAIT WHAAAAAT???} I was sad I didn’t get to hang with all the fun friends and family, and sad I didn’t try all the new “fun food” that people bring, but I was deep down kinda happy that I didn’t have to worry about the food hangover.
Me and Lady Gaga and my tea.
Comment below. Did you over indulge with yesterday’s food festivities? or did you steer clear of the danger zone?
