In my opinion, nothing says sophisticated elegance like tufted headboards, so it’s a good thing that tufting is all the rage again because I can’t get enough! My headboard isn’t tufted and I struggle with replacing mine. It’s a beautiful monster of a four poster bed I got as a wedding gift from my parents, along with the rest of the “set”… the 2 night stands and large armoire. So because it has that extra special meaning, I’m having a hard time parting with it. But in the meantime, until I decide if I should change mine out or not, I’m obsessing over some of these.

One of the things I love so much about tufting is the versatility. No matter the style of the room, or the furniture, tufty fits easily in to any decorating scheme.
In the eclectic room above, there are a lot of different colors, textures and patterns happening but the had board seems to ground it all and it draws your eyes immediately to it, rather than to the usually more noticeable decor in the room.

While tufting leaves a very tight and smooth surface to the headboard, paid with faux fur and less structured materials, really allows for the room to feel casually elegant.
And if your goal is going girly, this room is an example of just how to do it. Pale pink, ruffles, sparkle, feathers and double the tufting. Heaven on earth!

Talk about grand! This tufted headboard is tall, regal and stately, yet still soft and inviting. And while the simple pink and white striped pillows dare to take it to a more casual tone, the nailhead trim on the walls, pull the room right back to a more formal state. I would imagine that anyone who sleeps is in this bed is focused and driven but have a bit of a playful side.
