Patterns don't have to just occupy fabrics, rugs, window treatments.  Bold patterns with contrasting colors can make such a statement when they are on major furniture pieces in a room.  It's very unexpected to see this on the pieces themselves vs the fabric on the sofa or pillows.  It has KA-POW power when I see it in a room!
