I’ll be taking a few days off from Blog-topia to be enjoying some CAMP time with my daughter and her 6th grade class from school. You heard me right. Yes. Camping. ME. Camping.
No…. I won’t be canoeing in style like Teresa Giudice….
…. by the way, I’m a RHONJ and RHONY junkie, to set the record straight, and the New Jersey chics TOTALLY had me on the floor when it came to camping style. To see them when they ARRIVED? and their little shopping excurusion to CAMPING WORLD was INSANE hysterical! Anyhoo… back to the matter at hand..
Nor will we be camping out in PLUSH style (don’t I WISH!!!) in a pimped out RV.
Did any of you watch the Newlyweds with Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey waaaaaaaay long ago? Remember the episode when they went camping? OMG hysterical….
She had to take her Louis with her…
And was pretty clueless how to prepare for the whole experience!
I’m ashamed to admit I’m one of those folks. I’m a soccer mom who can’t dress DOWN for soccer games. I just DONNO how to do it! I’m the goofy one that shows up in heels and a clutch. For REAL! And those of you who are like me, you KNOW what I’m talkin bout!
Oh if you could HEAR the conversations going on in my house right now as I pack my “gear”. HA! Yes, did I say GEAR? … um let’s see… I DID paint my nails for this little getaway… why? Gotta look nice for those bison I might run into, right?
So alas, last year, when I found out we get to stay in CABINS instead of pitching a tent, I said, “I’m ALL IN!” Whoop Whoop! I get to break out of my shell, wear tennis shoes, and experience mother nature! Make up and all! HA! And guess what??? I LOVED IT!
I donno who had more fun… the kids, or me? As you can see, I was attempting to become master archer-ess.
But here’s what I’m getting to with all of this. I get to be present with my sweet baby girl. I get to be with her and her friends and see her in her element. This opportunity will only come ONCE. For my son, it has to be dear hubby to volunteer (boys w dads, girls w moms). So that’s just it! Just ONCE will I get to experience all of this with my daughter at 11 (12 in a few weeks!). So no matter what MY issues were, dealing with nature, getting out of my comfort zone, none of that mattered at all. What mattered was being present with my sweet girl and experiencing all this with her. We get ONE chance. That’s it! Just one. No do-overs. So, out in the wilderness I am, with t-shirts, tennis shoes, and no bling. Leaving the Tom Ford’s at home and taking cheapies for the sun… no arm parties, no fire Prada clutch in hand.
And I can’t wait for what this year has in store for us!
Talk to you lovies when I get back! I’ll be sending you smooches from the bonfire!
