Good morning all! Today is the first Monday of 2013. Monday’s usually mean, “Today, I’m going to start ______.” Right? And being the FIRST one of the year? Means really buckling down if you are setting resolutions for yourself. That is, IF you are setting resolutions … you don’t have to!
The number one New Year’s Resolution people make is to lose weight. And yet about 80% have failed by the end of January. Isn’t that crazy? I will say that weight and health is something of interest to me because:
1. I’m vertically challenged, so when I put on 5 lbs, it REALLY shows,
2. I put it on ALL OVER, which, that could be a good thing vs bad thing, but my face turns into a puffy fish and I lose all cheekbones.
3. It comes on FAST! So I’m always having to be in check with myself.
4. I absolutely truly HATE myself, am disgusted with myself when I feel heavy.
And I will say, it’s all in the eye of the beholder. We’re our own worst critic, right? So I’m highly critical of myself, because after I got married, I got pleasantly plump, so much so that on my 2 week honeymoon, my mom saw me get off the plane and said “WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU???”… 10 lbs, 2 weeks, and I was on my way south. Hence, I’ve been on the other side, not OVER extreme by any means, but enough that I was MISERABLE and still childless (meaning NO excuse and no baby fat to be overweight).
Basically, what I’m saying thru all this is that is why I keep myself in check and share these little tips with you. Because I’m sure there are LOTs of you out there like me. And I’ve been there, done that. And it wasn’t fun. But, not only have I learned and know better now, I’ve been able to coach others to major weight loss success. So why not share that part of myself with you?
It’s been found that by sharing your goal or resolution with others, you’ll have a greater chance of success. So what is MY resolution? So MY resolution isn’t to really “LOSE WEIGHT” per se, (but I certainly wont mind an additional 8 lbs be gone!), but to maintain BALANCE and not YO-YO. I felt that 2012 was ups and downs. This year my goal is to be EVEN keeled on the scale.
So I will go back to sharing some On Purpose thoughts, ideas, products, things that help us achieve healthy living/diet/weight related goals on Mondays… as much as I can… and if I’m distracted by a vacation or something sparkly, do forgive! 🙂
So now that I’ve bared my soul with all of you…. Share here below …. what are some of YOUR resolutions? Talk to me! I’d love to hear from you guys!
