Decorating our homes can be a challenge when it comes to accessorizing different spaces. The one thing that always comes to mind for me is coffee tables. How do we pull different things together, what types of things do we buy and then what?
I’m sharing a few tips on what I’ve done throughout the years in my own home. I pulled items for you to shop in each of the categories, and ALL of these items are all UNDER $100 each!
Books. Choose books that tie into your interests as well as the aesthetic of the room. Also pay attention to the colors of the covers as they should tie in as well. Stack them and place things on them or just simply stack them.
Boxes. Again, find boxes that complement the other items on the table. What I love most about boxes is that they’re functional pieces. Use them to store your remote control, a notepad and pen if you want, or sometimes as I do, extra hair ties for when I’m just unwinding in front of the tv!
Candles. I almost always have candles and I realized this time, I did not! Probably because I burned them! They should be as pretty as they are fragrant!
Figurines and decorative objects. Mix shapes and textures. Space them in patterns of balance. Place some items on the books or on a tray.
Trays. Trays, like the books, provide an anchor on the table. Use it for coasters, decorative objects, candles. Don’t over clutter your tray, but its purpose is to contain a grouping of items as well as “hold the fort down!”
Plants / Greenery / Succulents. Finally, green. I will admit. My thumb is the furthest from being green. So I personally don’t care using a great artificial plant if it looks ok. Do what works best for you!
Hopefully, my tips and guidelines take the confusion out of decorating your coffee table!
