Sometimes changing one thing up in a room can give a completely different look. It could be changing the furniture around. It could be removing something from the space. In this case, I’m adding to my space. I’ve done something like this before but changed it up instead of adding to it. You can see it HERE.
I’ve had this fabulous light fixture from Luxe Objects now for about 6 months…

The moment I saw this drum pendant chandelier, I said THAT’S MINE. It totally fits with everything I love. My first thought was the kitchen island. I have this large kitchen with a huge vast amount of space and it opens up into another large area. Granted, I love the openness, but sometimes I think the thought of a cool fixture to weigh it down would be great, too.
Years ago I had a really fabulous pot rack and from it hung dried flowers, some cute little painted pans, some copper things, back in the day when I was more into the whole country french thing. Well, since I’ve sleeked things up a bit, I got rid of all of that and it’s been nice having tall things on my island to decorate throughout the seasons.
So my biggest delay was really 1. is this going to create a massive shadow, and 2. can I still put large and tall things on my island. Well, I think the beauty of this piece will outweigh both of those issues. I’ll figure it out as I go along. Obviously nothing obtrusively tall, but as far as shadows are concerned, I’ll deal with it!
So I did it!
So here is what it looked like BEFORE:
…. and now AFTER….
So what do you guys think? Like it?
