Today is day one of the Dallas Market Temps Gift Show, and it’s where I’ll be till next week. If you remember, HERE I talked about what I’m going to be busy doing, and this marks show one of two for the summer.
When I told my daughter a little over two years ago that if she wanted to truly start a business that I would help her, I would never have dreamed we would be where we are today. But she has kept following what she loves, despite days of challenge and stress with schoolwork and sports, and has had a ball with her journey as a young entrepreneur. Myself, on the other hand, had never knew the joy and pride that comes with all of this as a parent. But not only from that aspect and the warm fuzzies, but truly, from the business side, it has been SO much fun being her “momager”. The minute we walked into the World Trade Center a few days ago in Dallas, it was such a great feeling, almost an adrenaline rush for both of us. The thrill of this whole scene, at least for us newbies, is indescribable. The excitement with her getting new stores, to watch her set goals for herself daily, to hear her talk confidently, a little bit more as each day and conversation passes, it awe inspiring. And so for that reason, I have to say I love what I do. Rewarding doesn’t begin to explain it.
This picture was taken two years ago in Argostoli in Kefalonia, Greece. We were supposed to be there again this summer, but instead sacrificed business for pleasure because of her momentum. At least this summer. This island is one of my absolute favorite of all islands in Greece. Some of my family lives, there, I have friends there, and each beach has it’s own unique characteristics. The main city is by far one of my faves, there are some of the most scenic places in Greece here, and my roots go back to this place. But above all, it’s my motherland. I’d give anything to be there… but it’s a trade off. For now, I am following these passions and supporting the dreams of my daughter.
What is it that you love doing? What are you passionate about? Are you following that? Pursuing it in some way, shape or form? Finding what that is and even if you take baby steps towards that direction will give you so much fulfillment, so much joy, that is what being On Purpose is all about.
So, follow me and Honestly Margo to be inspired, if you wish, on different social media. We both will be Periscoping, too.
