Do you love the BLT?
Well, the BLT I’m going to share with you guys today is a different BLT. Not bacon, lettuce and tomato.
BITES
LICKS
and TASTES
(no, that is not me!)
Bites, Licks and Tastes. BLTs. We ALL do it, all the time, without even thinking. We take a bite of something out of the pantry, from the kitchen, of our kids grilled cheese sandwich, their french fries, how about those LAST few pieces of candy in that bowl, or a handful of pistachios just cuz. We take little bites throughout the day that we never even THINK of. And licks, well, don’t put me in front of a bowl of cake mix because the rest is history! I will LICK the bottom of that bowl CLEAN! But did I even count that into my calorie intake for the day? Of COURSE not! I didn’t EAT a thing… I just licked it real quick! Finally tastes, well, that goes without saying…. My new favorite joke is, “here, let mommy taste that for you to make sure it’s not POISONOUS or anything!!!” 🙂
Point being in all these BLT’s that I hope to enlighten you of and help you create awareness of their existence. Why? Well, how many calories do you think a bite of your hubby’s veal marsala is? or having a bite of his creme brule? or passing by that bowl of candy corn leftovers? or tasting each course of the thanksgiving meal 3 times! Each BLT counts. They’re not fat free, they’re not calorie free, they’re not zero points, they COUNT…. And, they ADD UP. So if you’re trying to be OP on your diet, trying to be focused, and you’re noticing things not going your way on the scales or with your waistline, think about your BLTs.
Are you taking bites without realizing their “worth”? Tasting things? Here or there little munchies? They add up. I like the BLT sandwich, but I’m not a fan of the Bites, Licks, and Tastes. They make my waist and thighs bigger. Not so pretty!
So, watch your BLTs if you’re watching your diet. Something you might have never thought of could be one of the biggest things hurting your efforts to achieve your goals!
Here’s to a happy Monday!

Irene this is a funny post, as we get older I believe our hormones influence the cravings that we have. It is easy to become a zombie eater. We really should be mindful.
